Finally! I can ditch the hat ‘n’ gloves and transition into..well anything but a snow suit and a parka. So this fabulous color block coat that I’m so freakin’ obsessed with has actually challenged me and my wardrobe. I found myself looking over-done, over-patterned and even distracting while pairing the coat with some of my typical looks. This is because my outfits tend to be bold and pattern-heavy to begin with. When adding the vibrant, color block coat it ended up being visually too much. This forced me to simplify by choosing neutral, solid pieces that complement the coat rather than compete with it. Keep this in mind when styling with heavily patterned, textured or detailed coats/jackets. Gotta keep sh*t balanced.
